Absolutely top notch shooter which is one of the few games that really show what the STE was capable of and the number of sprites on the screen at times is incredible but never a hint of slowdown. Visually it is a feast for the eyes with a wide variety of imaginative enemies which move in balletic precision across the screen and more colours on the screen than the ST has any right to display at once. Music by Jochen Hippel is fantastic too as well as the sound effects including lots of digitised sound. Not too keen on the mocking laugh when you die though seems like too much salt in the wound for what is already a mega tough game. A real tour de force and deserved to be more heralded than it was but it came late in the life of the ST but stands the test of time as a true great in the ST library.

Au debut on choisi le nombre de joueurs :
touches "A" et "Z" pour chosir son perso et "W" pour valider
dans le jeu à chaque fois que l'ecran flash il faut appuyer sur une touche
quand il y a un jet de dés : taper une touche
"1" et "2" pour se deplacer à droite ou a gauche et "3" pour valider
(pour certain sort c'est "4" pour sortir)
Quand vous lancer un sort il vous demande son numero (parmis une liste qu'il donne)
il faut valider avec "entrée"
"E" et "D" pour scroller les armes et objets
"Z" pour avoir les statistiques
et dans les stats :
"A" et "Q" pour scroller les armures
"Z" et "S" pour scroller les compagnons
"E" et "D" pour scroller les armes et objets
"espace " pour sortir des stats
parfois il vous pose une question. et vous propose comme reponse
de taper "1" pour OUI n'importe qu'elle autre touche sera pris pour NON

When I witnessed the first ever glimpses of a technique called Voxel Space, my jaw dropped to the floor. That was in 1993, on a friend's PC, and the game was called Commanche : Maximum Overkill. Little did I know, that this was also possible on an Atari ST. And when reading the thread on Atari-Forum about a possible new game for the Atari family of home computers called Vergeworld : Icarus Rising, I had to get in touch with the guys from Retrobones to learn more. Lately, some great Atari-related books have been released for all of us fanatics. One of those titles is Atari : A Visual History from one of my favorite graphics artists, Darren Doyle. Although this book is not Atari ST related, it covers all there is to know about the Atari 8-bit. Knowing Darren's work I participated on the Kickstarter and boy, ever since the book arrived, I have been hooked. Darren is also responsible for the amazing digital magazines Atari Gamer and Atari ST Gamer. Recently he started a game publishing company called BitmapSoft. Last week a nice package came in the mail. Finally, the 2 volumes of 'We Love Atari' made it to my doorstep. These books by Karl Morris ooze passion and a true love for Atari. I was so impressed by the depth and amount of historical detail found in these books, I just had to contact Karl for an interview to find out how it all started. 'We Love Atari' covers the history of the brand from 1972 till 1996. Karl is not new to the Atari scene, going back as early as 1998 when he created his first Atari website. You don't know Mathieu Stempell? Perhaps you are more acquainted with his nickname Dma-Sc. He has worked on so many productions on the Atari ST, demos as well as games, that I'm almost embarrassed that it took this long before we scored an interview with him. Mathieu is a self-made musician who knows almost everything there is to know about the YM chip. He is currently working on the soundtrack for the upcoming release Athanor 2.
