All of this might sound really dull, but what makes this game so amazing is the feeling of speed it creates. Never have a felt this before in a game. The scenery flies by at 50 frames a second! Racing through narrow sections and tunnels makes your heart pump faster. Driving on a hill at 200MPH, without knowing what to expect when you reach the top, is even a bit scary! The IA is quite good. Each computer controlled character has his own business to take care of, and each one has his own feelings towards you and the normans, that' s why a good popularity is so important in this game. The combat system, instead, could have been improved; you can only shoot arrows in front of you or fight with your sword, but once you' ve engaged a fight there' s little you can do to control Robin; either kill, get killed or run away as fast as you can...November 27, 2001 by ST Graveyard
Your heart is pounding like hell. It feels as if it's gonna explode within seconds. Sweat is dripping of your face. In the background you hear those annoying sirens. You're completely focussed on the road, as the local cars fly by. You push the pedal to the metal...272 km/h...There, in the distance, is your opponent. You just gotta beat him, or he's gonna take all your money. But those damn cops. You just can't seem to shake them. They're coming closer and closer. Probably one of the most underrated games in history, Cloud Kingdoms was by far my favourite C64 game, and one of the best platform games I've ever seen. The ST version doesn' t look as good as the C64 one, but it' s still very playable and addictive, and it also features a few more levels. Definitely worth a try.
In 1980, Sir Clive Sinclair released the cheapest homecomputer ever made, the ZX80. Mr Sinclair was on a mission. He wanted to teach a generation how to program a computer. And it was a success. Nick Harper is a prime example. He started out on the ZX Spectrum, went on the create one of the best STOS games on the Atari ST and today he is a successful game developer who has worked for several big companies like Sony and Ubisoft, with numerous triple A titles on his resumé.
