All of this might sound really dull, but what makes this game so amazing is the feeling of speed it creates. Never have a felt this before in a game. The scenery flies by at 50 frames a second! Racing through narrow sections and tunnels makes your heart pump faster. Driving on a hill at 200MPH, without knowing what to expect when you reach the top, is even a bit scary! The IA is quite good. Each computer controlled character has his own business to take care of, and each one has his own feelings towards you and the normans, that' s why a good popularity is so important in this game. Your heart is pounding like hell. It feels as if it's gonna explode within seconds. Sweat is dripping of your face. In the background you hear those annoying sirens. You're completely focussed on the road, as the local cars fly by. You push the pedal to the metal...272 km/h...There, in the distance, is your opponent. You just gotta beat him, or he's gonna take all your money. But those damn cops. You just can't seem to shake them. They're coming closer and closer. Probably one of the most underrated games in history, Cloud Kingdoms was by far my favourite C64 game, and one of the best platform games I've ever seen. The ST version doesn' t look as good as the C64 one, but it' s still very playable and addictive, and it also features a few more levels. Definitely worth a try.
Today, we had the chance to talk to Orion, the second person we interview from the famous Replicants group. But there is more, Sébastien was also a member of Fuzion. These days he is very active in the scene and lately he was responsible for releasing the obscure Son Shu Shi, a game thought to be lost in time. If you want to learn more about the French cracking scene in its hay days, this is something for you.
