All of this might sound really dull, but what makes this game so amazing is the feeling of speed it creates. Never have a felt this before in a game. The scenery flies by at 50 frames a second! Racing through narrow sections and tunnels makes your heart pump faster. Driving on a hill at 200MPH, without knowing what to expect when you reach the top, is even a bit scary! The IA is quite good. Each computer controlled character has his own business to take care of, and each one has his own feelings towards you and the normans, that' s why a good popularity is so important in this game. The combat system, instead, could have been improved; you can only shoot arrows in front of you or fight with your sword, but once you' ve engaged a fight there' s little you can do to control Robin; either kill, get killed or run away as fast as you can...November 27, 2001 by ST Graveyard
Your heart is pounding like hell. It feels as if it's gonna explode within seconds. Sweat is dripping of your face. In the background you hear those annoying sirens. You're completely focussed on the road, as the local cars fly by. You push the pedal to the metal...272 km/h...There, in the distance, is your opponent. Probably one of the most underrated games in history, Cloud Kingdoms was by far my favourite C64 game, and one of the best platform games I've ever seen. The ST version doesn' t look as good as the C64 one, but it' s still very playable and addictive, and it also features a few more levels. Definitely worth a try.
Ever since he first saw the BBC Micro, Jamie Hamshere was fascinated by technology and computer programming. In the past years he has done some tremendous things in the Atari ST scene. Creating an STe version of the classic puzzler Klax, or what about the 7 channel sound-engine Turbo Chip. He also helped with the sounds in the recent Lotus STe game by Jonathan Thomas. But today, it is all about his other big achievement, reinterpreting the classic Miles Lord game Droid.

Read interview of Jamie HamshereIn the mid 80's Atari was approached by a company called Nintendo. They asked if Atari was interested in distributing their new 8 bit system. At that time, Jack Tramiel was head of the Atari company. He declined the offer, saying Atari wanted to stop releasing consoles and focus on personal computers instead! So in the end, Nintendo had to distribute the consoles themselves ... In just a few months, they wiped Atari from the throne!
