News illustration image Who can stop Leonard to update SainT? Not us!
The current developper is just coming to release another version of the emulator. This time it updates:

- tricky timerb event mode setting in a fullscreen line ( ULM 8channels demo )
- wrong top-border and timerb usage bug fixed ( screen number 6 in delirious demo 2 )
- potential crash at startup if TOS rom file not found fixed

As far as I know the ULM 8channels demo has not yet been released. Hope it will be soon available.

Ancient GFA demo by Tobe/MJJ-Prod

October 20, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image Tobe of MJJ-Prod is just coming to retrieve his demo coded in 1992. It is named 1999 and works on 1 MB STE. It features nice effects and a good tunnel used later in the game 'Roger'. It was a good attempt to code a demo in GFA Basic back in 1992!

Grab the 1999 demo now and watch it.

This bugfix corrects an error in PEGANA, where ELKAMUR doesn't answer when he is showed some items.
The bug only exists in the french version!
This bugfix will be included in Dragonflight V1.2 for Steem.

Download Dragonflight Bugfix and replace the faulty file in the FRA_DATA directory.

Another 16x16 demo

October 20, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image A new screen for the 16x16 challenge is done. This time it is coded by Phantom, who was previously a guest-coder for V-Max.
Once again the demo doesn't follow the rules established by Leonard. The demo displayed 250 masked sprites. It is more likely a 'wink' to the contest, altough it runs fine on any ST/STE (with at least 512 KB of memory). Also Phantom works at the moment on a rules compliant screen. This new one may be finished next week.

DragonFlight for Steem v1.1

October 19, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image A new version of Thalion game DragonFlight is available. According to Udo Fischer, here are the modifications:

- removed a copy protection check which was left in the emulator version unintentionally...
this led to the 'Game-over' sequence when entering 'King Halfton'.
- added the 'Wordlist' with all the words which might be asked as 'extra adventure'. It's directly a part of the source code but I think you will find the appropriate words...

Download DragonFlight v1.1 and feel free to visit Thalion Webshrine.

Random review

This game is good, very good for a few hours. Then, after completing all the circuits twice, you'll quickly lose interest... but it's still worth a try.

Did you know?

In the mid 80's Atari was approached by a company called Nintendo. They asked if Atari was interested in distributing their new 8 bit system. At that time, Jack Tramiel was head of the Atari company. He declined the offer, saying Atari wanted to stop releasing consoles and focus on personal computers instead! So in the end, Nintendo had to distribute the consoles themselves ... In just a few months, they wiped Atari from the throne!
