Profile pages

December 9, 2004 by ST Graveyard

Hello,

From now on, our account users all have their own personal profile page. Al you gotta do is log on to this site and a new button on the lower left side will appear called "Profile". Over there you can change your password but more importantly, you can now add your email address. If you add your email address other fans will be able to contact you as your name will be highlighted on comments, reviews, links, ... But don't worry, this will only happen when the user is actually logged in as well, so no harm from spam bots!

So please, if you log on to this site, don't forget to update your account!

Also, if you feel the need to write a review of your favorite classic game, feel free to use our new review template which can be found in the game detail pages of this site.

Cheers

Atari Forum will be back

December 8, 2004 by ST Graveyard

News illustration image Hello everybody,

We are getting some concerned emails from fans questioning the disappearance of our beloved Atari-Forum. Don't worry, it will be back!

It seems that we have been again a victim of a hacker. This is the 4th time this year something bad happens to the forum. After the move to the LGD server of Richard Davy, we thought we were save. Now it seems this whole server got hacked, and a complete reinstall of the operating system is necesarry. Also, the necesarry precautions will be taken for future attacks. So, we can't really put a date on when the forum will return, but I think it should be back within a week.

For now, there is a temporary forum online, which you can access by just clicking the button in the left menu!

Again, we apologize for all of this, but this is just life, I guess. Please stay put and don't let these kinds of things ruin the fun (for long)!

Cheers

New demo by The Beasts Crew

December 6, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image We have received a message from MrNours of MJJ-Prod. It was related to a new demo by the crew The Beasts Crew. Here is what he wrote:

SoLo2 of TBC proudly presents:
The BEASTS Crew
MiniDemo #12
With some Moire fills, sprites, scrolls, cool effects and minimal electro chip music.

The result looks very strange, but it worth a look. So you know what to do tonight.

Paulo Simoes releases another fullscreen in 2004!

December 1, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image After the 16x16 sprites attempt, Paulo Simoes is just coming to publish a new demo. It features 70 balls that are displayed in fullscreen with a nice module of... 8 voices!
The mod is replayed at 15.65 KHz. The Oktalyzer music was remixed by the crew Tranquilizer back in 1996. For emulators users, please run the demo under SainT 1.80 or 1.85. The current version of Steem doesn't yet replay the music correctly.
The result may look oldschool, but it's a great screen we'd like to see more often.

Feel free to download the Panic Demo by Paulo Simoes now.

The final 3 Grazey Zak Hacks disks released

November 29, 2004 by Grazey

News illustration image 1990-1 was the year when I released my first music rip disk on the ST (GZH #1). 14 years later the series concludes with disks 37, 38 and 39. The most striking thing about this release is the definitive Mad Max collection (459 tunes)... now also nicely linked (e.g. 29 Turrican 2 tunes in one SNDH file) and Falcon/CT60(!) compatible.

On disk 39 you'll find my full SNDH list... I never realised I'd converted so many tunes... 2264 SNDH files equating to 4855 tunes.

Random review

Omega was released around 1988 or 1989 for numerous platforms, from 8-bitters like the Apple II through to 16/32-bit platforms like the Atari ST (and Amiga?) where I experienced it. Let me quickly summarize and say...its a game whereby you assemble and arm robotic tanks and 'script' or 'code' their behaviour for combat in an area filled with other 'coded' tanks.

Did you know?

"So we went to Atari and said, 'Hey, we've got this amazing thing, even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about funding us? Or we'll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our salary, we'll come work for you.' And they said, 'No.' So then we went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you. You haven't got through college yet.'" -- Apple Computer Inc. founder Steve Jobs, on attempts to get Atari and HP interested in his and Steve Wozniak's personal computer
