We now have a Wiki!

June 20, 2006 by muguk

News illustration image Ladies & Gentlemen, Atari Forum now has a Wiki!

Myself, Silver Surfer and Daeghano have been working on a little side-project when time permits and now it's time to open the doors and let everyone else add their bits!

The three of us that have been working on the Wiki have left a fairly open structure for you to play with. So play away!

We want everyone (who can be bothered) to share their knowledge displayed in Atari Forum (and anywhere else in the Atari world) with as many people as they can.

Games, Hardware (fixing, modding and upgrading), Coding, Hacking and other stuff. All important information is welcome in the Wiki.

Don't worry about editing/spelling/grammar as I can work my magic with my virtual 'red pen' - did I mention my day job is a Technical Author?

I've got an RSS feed which will show me all new edits made on the Wiki, so behave yourself those childish people who like to damage things! Smiley

There will be a forum section dedicated to the Wiki appearing soon @ Atari Forum!!. Discuss any changes / sections you want adding in that section as soon as it's open.

Take me to the Wiki!!

Back from Outline 2006

June 7, 2006 by muguk

News illustration image Got back from a busy weekend in Zevenaar, The Netherlands as I was attending the Outline 2006 held at de Panoven.

Had a great time meeting and greeting people behind the IDs on Atari Forum and DHS. Some I'd seen before (about 14 years earlier at the Bradford dig or the one @ Pele's house in '93!) and others were all new faces.

Brought back loads of goodies from Lotek - including the new Fading Twilight #11 CD and No Fragments 4, 5 & 6. Great stuff on those CDs Lotek - keep producing more!

I went over with Cal & Grazey from the PHF. Whilst there I did some logos and a quick tune for Cal's game on the PC. It came first in the competition too!

Photos of the event are over at my blog page, so pop over there if you're bored! Once Cal has uploaded his photos, there will be lots more to look at. For the time being, it's just my crappy camera on my phone or my ancient digital camera pictures.

All the ST/Falcon releases are located on DHS's site, so click here to visit the downloads section.

Walk like an Egyptian

June 5, 2006 by Klapauzius

News illustration image Once in a while we discover a game that was released in the heyday of the Atari ST but has remained 'undiscovered' for all these years.

Today we'd like to present you with another one of those lost and forgotten titles:

Pharaoh III by Supernova Software

It's not related to "Pharaoh" by Rainbow Arts, but is actually a little "Space Invaders" variation that takes place in the land of the Pharaoh's in ancient Egypt. It may not be the greatest game of its kind, but there are much worse titles released commercially on the ST ;-)
A text file with some instructions on how to play is included on the disk image.

Cheers to Goldrunner for unearthing this title! Other credits for this release: game cracked and trained by Klapauzius - Intro by Bigfoot of MJJ-Prod - Intro music by Dark Angel.

Get it here and blast away!

Chaos and Atari Legend strike back

May 29, 2006 by Klapauzius

News illustration image Another day, another game...

To supplement our recent release of a scarce Dungeon Master variant, we bring you another rare version from the same universe today:

Chaos Strikes Back v2.1 English

Although we don't have much information on it, this seems to be the final version of Chaos Strikes Back. All fans of the series will surely be keen to find out the differences to the more common version 2.0 (please tell us about it if you should do so ;-) ).

Avenger has done a great job again with cracking this game, which was protected even better than its ancestor Dungeon Master. He also added a trainer and played it through to the end to ensure that the crack works fine. The nice intro was coded by our friend Zorro2 of NoExtra.

Well, nothing more to say at the moment, except telling you where to get it. What, you already know? Ok, but just in case you don't - it's here.

A lost game by Starbyte

May 28, 2006 by Klapauzius

News illustration image Today we present you another very rare title for your collection:

Soccer Manager Plus

This game was somewhat more common on the Amiga, from which it was ported, but had remained a very obscure title on the ST. Only a very few die-hard collectors had this game in their collection and to the best of my knowledge it had never been cracked - until now!

The protection was removed by Klapauzius. We have also added the option to activate a built-in cheat menu to make your life easier, and made the game STE compatible.

The original was supplied by Alex of ICS, the colourful intro was coded by Jace of ST Knights.

And there's another first for us! When you run this game from your hard disk it will use routines from D-Bug's brillant ULS. Thanks must go to Cyrano Jones and Showaddywaddy for this great invention!

Just click here to grab this game ... and have a nice Sunday!

Dungeon Master v1.2 English

May 27, 2006 by Klapauzius

News illustration image We're back again! :-)

Here's another piece in the puzzle of the Dungeon Master universe:

Dungeon Master v1.2 English

It was cracked, multi-trained and fully playtested by our great member and Dungeon Master specialist Avenger. The original disks were supplied by Kenneth Bazan. The beautiful intro for this release was coded by Zorro 2 of NoExtra.

Well, yet another version of one of the most famous games on the Atari ST. I think all the many Dungeon Master fans out there will be happy to see it. We should be near completion in the Dungeon Master series now.

Click here to download this new version.

Also stay tuned for one more goodie coming this weekend! See you soon...

What makes "Joust" such a nice experience is the ease of the gameplay. You are gonna be airborne before you know it, kicking some serious buzzard butt.

Did you know?

What does ST stand for? Some people believe it is an abbreviation of "Sam Tramiel", head of Atari. Others say it is short for "16 32", cause the ST was the first in a line of 16 - 32 bit computers by Atari!
