RType Fixed For Falcon and Hard Disk

November 9, 2006 by heavystylus

News illustration image Cut & Paste job from the D-Bug site:

7th November 2006

R-Type ++ (m)st(e) HD-f030-8/16mhz.

"D-Bug rescues another lost classic. We know its old, but even though there was a recent release of this by some other people, there still wasn't a good version out there. Apparently the Falcon030 isn't 'all systems' in their eyes. This version is also mega trained, We'd credit the person who trained it, but he's not big on crediting others, so we wont, we'll just say we did it anyway. Anyway, head to the download for some classic blasting action with R-Type! Also check out the exclusive Dubmood track in the intro!"

So there you have it. Get it here, along with D-Bug's other Falcon/HD fixes:

DBug single disk releases

October 12, 2006 by JamesRC

News illustration image D-Bug, producers of superlative compact disks and "constructive critics" of the Gamebase ST project, have been quietly releasing some very nice single disk cracks over the last few weeks.

Starglider II, Backlash, RVF Honda and Live and Let Die have all already been released, and there's no sign that they plan on stopping there.

What makes these cracks special? They're all 100% MegaSTE and Falcoln compatible, fully hard drive installable, and come with a free car[1]!

You can head on over to D-Bug's own news page to download these gifts, in less time than it will take you to write me a nasty email about the "constructive critics" jab.

[1] The bit about the free car is a lie.

Maxymiser Compo

October 3, 2006 by Marcer

News illustration image To celebrate the latest version of maxYMiser, and to answer the requests of maxYMiser users, I announce a competition for maxYMiser music!

Any style or effects are allowed, as long as the music is playable on a standard Atari ST or STe.

Entries from emulator users and non-sceners are strongly encouraged!

The deadline is on the 4th December 2006, and there will be a decent prize for the winner. The winner will be decided by a public voting relating to a demo and MP3 release of the music in mid-December.

There are hardly any rules, but for more information visit the compo website or send an email.

Thanks, and good luck to all entering!

Random review

One good thing about this game is that you don't have lives/credits. You can try a level as often as you like, and if you fail it there's no penalty. You can play the levels in any order - choose from 1 to 15, they get ticked off as you complete them.

Did you know?

The Atari symbol is known as the "Fuji" because of its resemblance to Mt. Fuji.
