There are dozens of remakes of ST era games floating around on the giant combination curiosity shop and flea market that is the Internet. There are so many, in fact, that any attempt at a list of them would no doubt immediately consume all the space on the Atari Legend server, bringing down the site, and indeed all other sites hosted within a twenty mile radius, as well as leaving the administrators with a bandwidth bill equal to the net worth of two small nations.
So I best not do that, eh?
What is worth a mention, however, is Tom Morton's lovely GLFrontier. What Tom has done is to have taken one part original disassembled ST Frontier code, one part lovely open source Hatari code, a dash of GL and 3D lighting spice, and whisked the whole thing together in a big bowl before baking for a few months at 400 degrees.
The result is a Windows (or indeed Linux) version of the classic Elite II - Frontier which is based upon the original ST code, and yet can run faster and in higher resolutions, to boot!
You can grab a copy at his website, and really, why wouldn't you?

What makes "Joust" such a nice experience is the ease of the gameplay. You are gonna be airborne before you know it, kicking some serious buzzard butt.
March 15, 2003 by ST Graveyard
Read the review of Joust"So we went to Atari and said, 'Hey, we've got this amazing thing, even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about funding us? Or we'll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our salary, we'll come work for you.' And they said, 'No.' So then we went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you. You haven't got through college yet.'" -- Apple Computer Inc. founder Steve Jobs, on attempts to get Atari and HP interested in his and Steve Wozniak's personal computer
