DemoBaseST has hit a milestone just recently. SkylineDave (the proprietor and moderator of DemoBaseST) announced the other day that he'd hit the 100 Megademos mark that are included with DemobaseST.
If you're not sure what DemoBaseST is, then it's a Windows-based front-end similar to GamebaseST but, as the name suggests, it's for viewing all those classic ST demos from the comfort of one shell.
And to top off this bit of good news, he's also released a patch to give you even MORE demos! So go visit the site, download DemobaseST and the upgrade patch, sit back and just watch some of the best demos that ever graced our lovely machine!
Take me to DemoBaseST HQ!

Two bits of sad news have appeared on Atari Forum over this weekend.
1) Andreas Wahlin - a.k.a. Perihelion - was killed on February 24th 2007 by some attackers. He will be fondly remembered for his 68000 coding tutorials which had taught a lot of beginners to 68000 on the joys of coding directly with the hardware instead of via an interpreted language.
Leave your condolences message on the forum here.
2) Richard Joseph, chip music composer on many machines, including the Atari ST, passed away in France due to complications from his chemotherapy he was receiving to help his battle with lung cancer.
All within the Atari community pass on our condolences to both families of the above. You will both be missed.

Back in autumn 1988 when me and my brother got our ST, we were sifting though some of the disks that came with the machine and decided which to recycle and which to keep. Then my brother went out to his mate's house and came back a couple of hours later with a box of compilation disks to try out.
