Zone Warrior

Once again, pesky aliens are giving us Earthlings lots of grief. We previously fought them off but they managed to pinch a time machine so are using that to alter history and wreak havoc by taking crucial hostages from each period in an attempt to halt their influence. From the invention of the wheel in prehistoric times to England's King Arthur uniting Britain! And where would any of us be today without Japan and its technical wizardry? Yep, we cannot allow this - the fight is on!

What an accomplishment this game is. Created with such a small team, the result is really amazing. The game oozes creative passion. While the gameplay is really well balanced, it is a tough cookie, very hard from time to time with its moments of sheer frustration. As of level 3, timing becomes key. You will need to practice and learn the levels to complete this game, there are so many bad guys on screen it sometimes gets a bit hard to take.

Graphically, it's also nice on the eyes with well-defined graphics and animation. You really get the feeling that the developers put some thought and love into the game. Remember what I said about the large levels? Well these are wonderful and are very different to each other, they also scroll fairly smooth in all four directions.

Did you know?

Did you know that there are some love messages in the TOS ROMs of the ST? In fact you can find the strings "Dave StaUgas loves Bea Hablig" and "JIM LOVES JENEANE" in all TOS ROMs with version number 1.xx and 2.0x!

Nice little platformer which is evocative of old arcade machine games like Donkey Kong and Mario with simple 8 bit looking graphics but good gameplay.

I love this one and it has such a haunting soundtrack which is absolutely top of the tree as far as ST Music goes. The whole concept of the game is different but in a good way and it reminds me a bit of the Sentinel which is another old classic I adore.

For a SEUCK game isn't too bad but the ship is too large and too easy to get trapped and the wave patterns are too predictable but has as much good points as bad I would say.

This program uses numerology to pick "lucky" Lotto numbers. To use it you will need a set of Tarot cards (obtainable at most book stores). I prefer the Thoth Tarot, but any set will do. In any Tarot deck there is a set of twenty-two cards called the Major Arcana. It is these cards you will need.

The game play was excellent... a sea to discover, a trade aspect to the game, you could choose your own adventure! One of my favourites of all Atari ST games!

I loved this game, though I remember it was not so easy to play. I think I never fully understood how the brews worked and it was not easy to spawn dragons from the eggs. Still such a new type of game back then. Awesome!

This game was so much fun... introducing the strategy map and in-game battle... so simple, yet, such good memories!! Loved shooting with the cannons!

A little bit of info about this game.. Was NOT ST(E) compatible at first. I wanted to play it badly but I had an Atari STe.. Bought the game anyway as I know 6502/68000 assembly and I wanted to play it badly!!. Cracked the tools open and took the copy protection off first - the boot .prg - Made it quicker for me to get to the error..

Rebooted with my "fixed" .prg file without copy protection and the game booted fully. Surprised, I shut down and restarted and tried it again.. Gunship 2000 (NON STE) was working. Contacted Microprose and sent my fixed .PRG without the protection. That was the STE fix. Don't know if they used mine fix/findings or any other persons but it was great to look at a box that said "Not STE compatible" and play that same game on my STe.. I was well chuffed!!

An seafaring game that centred around trading and battles with pirates. It was a fun engine but after a while it felt like there wasn't much else to do.
