Colin Dooley changed his name by deed poll to Fungus The Bogeyman.

When he was a child, he was a great fan of Fungus The Bogeyman and made the mistake of telling all his school friends. From that day on, everyone would call him Fungus. He told his friends at Gremlin so they called him Fungus too. He just decided one day that since everyone called him that he might as well change his name to it. After obtaining permission from the author of the Fungus books he changed it to Fungus The Bogeyman.

This seems like a blatant "Viewpoint" (of Neo Geo fame) rip-off with the jerky scrolling typical for too many ST games, yet it came out three years before the SNK title. Does anyone know whether the latter was influenced by this title?
